Thelma’s Story
It took many years and finally I told the Dr. to please go down with the scope and see if I had acid reflex.
For years my stomach was so bad and they would give me gall bladder test and GI tests and it showed nothing.
I had a cat scan on my stomach (nothing), they put me on protonix, prilosec and others to no avail.
I had very bad osteoporosis, and also bloating. I never had the diarrhea but always had bad constipation (which is all right now).
The more I ate fiber the less I would have a bowel movement. The stomach got so bad that I would have like heart attack symptoms–I would have to sit up all night and read when I had a bad bout.
Sometimes the symptoms would last for almost a week. The bouts were occurring closer where as before it would take months before an attack would strike.
When I finally had an endoscopy some of the villi were flat and that’s when he knew to take biopsy and a blood test.
I just don’t understand what takes our Dr.’s so long to diagnose. He was the 3rd one I went to and he was a gastroenterologist.
It’s been 4 years now and I try to follow my diet always and so far thank goodness I feel good.
Thelma
